[Husker] Marve still looking, but would Paulus be better fit for Nebraska?

This is a good post.  If the coaches didn't think it was worth it to bring in a quality quarterback for one year, they wouldn't do it.  It is a lot of work for them, not just the kid.  Hopefully, they will have better judgement than Callahan as to what is worth it.  And as Matthew said, we hope the best players will play and that includes a quality quarterback over a deserving walk-on.

Nick,

I tend to agree for the most part, especially in our recent past.

There are some changes nowadays that make either situation more palatable:
1) No BC - so the playbook is a lot skinnier. Maybe the learning curve isn't so high.
2) No BC - so I have less concerns about anyone playing favorites. I trust BP's judgement here.  The best players will play, the 2nd best will push for time, and if you don't like it, this isn't for you.
3) I think it might be good to have a reputation as a school that the best transfer INTO, and not away from.
4) Added visibility for the program overall. We'd get 4X more mentions on ESPN, etc. - and I like hearing about Nebraska. :)

The only downfalls I see are in keeping a potential scholarship from a deserving walk-on.  I'd love to see Paulus.

GBR!,
