I cannot resist the previous discussion from the last few weeks - here is some commentary from the Chronicle of Higher Education.

It relates to Jim Calhoun,  but based on my 'catch-up' reading today of posts from the past 10 days, it is topical, if not relevant.

Also, as an employee of OSU, beneficiary of the famed T. Boone Pickens,  I have no opinion on any discussion regarding the comparative merits of athletics vs. education.  So the opinions of the author do not reflect my own, since I have none.
