During the Byrne A.D. years, they looked at doing concerts in the stadium but Mike's comment is correct.  The stadium wasn't designed to allow trucks to back up to the field which meant loading and unloading from the street.  There were other options in Ames, Columbia, etc that would still pull from the Lincoln DMA which were more attractive.
