I have to wonder what game you were watching to come up with that
conclusion. The total yardage was only 377 yards for Virginia Tech vs.
333 for Nebraska. The difference in the game was the 9 points that NU
almost gift-wrapped for VT to start the game. Giving up a safety on a
blocked punt due to a high snap, and giving Virginia Tech the ball on
the 5 yard line after an interception wound up being the difference in
the game. Far from requiring "divine intervention", NU would have won
this game if they had done a better job protecting the football. They
could have, and should have, won this game.
