[Husker] Hurricanes Coming to play in Lincoln

Bill Byrne's "No National Championship Game in September" model was
fine back when Nebraska was in the national title mix, and over ten
years ago. Now, not so much.

AD's are figuring out that they can't get away with scheduling garbage
because at most schools fans aren't going to buy tickets to watch a
crappy product. You can only get away with the 'force a season ticket
down their throats' stuff so far before people won't buy them anymore.

So, they're taking to scheduling bigger name games at neutral sites so
both sites benefit. Nebraska doesn't really have a neutral site
anywhere that Nebraskans will travel to in droves, so we're going to
have to play games against people like Fresno State to get our faces
back in the national picture.

I don't think most Husker fans realize how far we've fallen off in the
view of national relevance. We don't exist for most of the nation now,
or we exist as a has-been. We're not as down as Florida State or
Miami, but those schools still have each other and Florida to play in
a game that people will watch.

Nebraska has no such rival, since we steadfastly refuse to acknowledge
anyone else but Oklahoma, others have noticed and ceased to care. Can
that change? Not until Husker fans realize it needs to, and with Tom
back and Bo around, it won't until we fail some more.
