I'd be inclined to agree if Pedey didn't have that embarassing PR fiasco 
where he backed out of a nationally televised game with Houston so we 
could play FCS/1-AA Maine - http://www.fanblogs.com/big12/003601.php.

I agree with Bill Byrne's scheduling philosophy.  However, Pederson's 
was dramatically different (and much worse).  His idea of a good 
scheduled was:

1.)  One good BCS school, that may or may not have been on the schedule 
before he took over as AD.
2.)  2-3 bad teams from FCS/1-AA, or the bottom rung of FBS/1-A.
