Greetings:
More on TV here -
First - ABC has three six day windows that they can use each season, they will not use one for the games on September 27th.
Second - ABC already has Georgia at Arizona State lined up for their prime time game that day so NU/VaTech will not be a night game on ABC.
Third - NU must have some indication that the NU/Viginia Tech game may be in the afternoon as they stated over the summer that they did not want all of their non-conference games played at night, and if Virgina Tech is at night then New Mexico State would be played during the day which as we know now it is not.
Fourth - The Virgina Tech game has lost some of its TV luster with their loss to East Carolina last week and there is the potential for them to lose two more games before they arrive in Lincoln on September 26th. They (Va Tech) play Georgia Tech and North Carolina (as well as Furman) before coming to Lincoln.
Fifth - I am not happy about a 6:00 PM start for the New Mexico State game at all (I don't like 11:30 either but I'll take that over 6:00). It took me almost three hours to get home on Saturday night and I only live 54 miles from the my parking space at Memorial Stadium. Night game traffic is much worse than day game traffic, not to mention the extreme amount of drinking that goes on leading up to one of these night games. I'm considering selling my tickets not going to the NMSU game and staying home and listening on the radio.
Sixth - We need to look at scheduling some non-confernce games during the conference season. This bit of playing 5 straight home games to start the season is a little bit long too. It would be nice to break up the home games a little and not have more than two consecutive home games (or road games) at a time.
