I guess I'll be the first to pipe up and ask why its so quiet on the
list when we have Oklahoma coming up this weekend. I mean, while most
feel we aren't going to win, I would expect that most of us want us to
do well. I'm hoping that we can do better against Oklahoma than we
did against Missouri. Any thoughts?
I think they out-athlete us, and Sam Bradford has been a marvelous QB.
But I would suspect that since they don't seem to run the spread
offense, that our base defense might be able to assert themselves a
bit better. We still have a bad habit of giving up a few big plays,
and I don't see that problem getting fixed this week. The question I
really have is whether we can hold off on the stupid penalties long
enough to be able to get into a rhythm on offense. Joe tends to do
well when a rhythm is established; against Baylor we had a lot of 3
and longs to overcome for much of the first half from plays that just
didn't work well, or didn't work as designed, on first and second
down. But it seemed in the second half, we got several first downs on
second down, or third and short. As long as we can continue to drive
the ball and keep them off the field, as we did at Texas Tech, the
story might not be as bad.
