[Husker] Penalties

Skylar,

I was upset with the Glenn facemask penalty until I saw the replay.  Glenn
raked his hand across the opposing players facemask when he first made
contact.  That's where the penalty came from not from when he tackled him
with the front of the jersey.  I thought the late hit out of bounds was a
bad call because it looked like Glenn was trying his best to hold the guy
up, not to level him. They also missed at least two holding calls against BU
DB's.  On the other hand, they missed a call on a long reception by a Husker
(Swift?) where he obviously stepped out of bounds and came back on the field
to catch the ball.  

I've thought the officiating has been bad all year and anti Husker.  I think
some of it is they don't like all the whining by Pelini plus he's a first
year coach.  He will learn to keep his mouth shut I suspect and after he has
become established he'll start getting the calls.

There were at least 2 really bad calls against us yesterday:

1) The already mentioned punt.  It looked to me that it went off the Baylor
player.  However, there was NO WAY it went off an NU player at the 21 like
they called it.  Not even close.

2) Cody Glenn's facemask on the sack was not a face mask, again, not even
close.

Some food for thought, We're 3rd to last in penalties called against us and
we're dead last in penalties called on our opponents:
