Losing to a top 5 team by a score of 52-7 is embarrassing and humiliating.
But compared to the embarrassment and humiliation that we endured last year,
it is not even close.  Not even on the meter compared to last year.  In
2007, Nebraska was one of the worst major conference teams in the nation
(world, galaxy, universe.)  Not just a bad year or a down year, an outright
terrible team. (could have, and maybe should have, been even worse, see Ball
State and Wake Forest).  The new coaching staff has inherited a very bad
team with very limited talent. The horizon to respectibility is way out
there....years.  Anyone expecting this team to return to a level of
competitiveness with the good teams needs to be looking at 2011 and 2012.
Anyone thinking anything else is in for some mighty disappointing Saturdays.
Nothing else matters if you don't have players.  Nothing.  It will take a
long while to get players and then get them experience.

At this point, we should watch the team with interest rather than passion
and observe the next few years judging progress, or lack thereof.  But
winning big games?  Great if it happens and we'll pull for it to happen, but
check your expectations.
