[Husker] MIssouri game

1955 was the worst home loss before this actually, but this was the worst loss to Missouri at home since '58. During the game tonight all I kept thinking was that Callahan & Co. purposely left the cupboard bare so to speak because they knew they were goners even two years ago.

With this talent level it will take AT LEAST two more years to get players in, assuming Pelini doesn't get run out of town first. I know Pelini knew what he was getting though, so maybe he can turn it around faster than two more years, but this year is going to be painful to watch, to say the least.

I believe the announcers stated that this is the worst defeat at home since
1958. I think we have reached a new low.

This may be the least talented and poorest executing NU team I have watched
in my 64 years. The years before Devaney were not happy but I seem to
remember them being competitive. Last years defense was pretty mediocre
(I'm trying my best to be nice...), but I'd take it over this team. We
had
more natural talent last year. Last years offense was better with more
speed at receiver. I like Swift but I doubt he will be drafted. He'll
probably get a shot as a free agent. I'm a bit of a pessimist but I
don't
see a game left where a win is more than a 50/50 proposition. I watched
Texas and OU today. I believe they are as good as or better than MU. Iowa
State played well against KU. If CU had not missed so many field goals
early, their game with TX would have been much closer.

I'm trying to think of a single player on this team that will be all Big
12.
I can't think of one. Henery (sp) would make it except that MU has a
kicker
that is just as good.

Somebody tell me I'm full of it, PLEASE!

I don't recall a worse home loss than this as long as I can remember- can
anyone verify if there has been a worse home loss in the last several
decades? Do we have to go back to the 60's? 50's?

Speilman (the commentator) keeps talking about how Nebraska needs all sorts
of I-backs and more offensive firepower in the future if they want to commit
to running the ball, but is he even paying attention to this game? It looks
like there are 11 I-backs playing defense tonight.
