[Husker] Who is our rivalry game? (fwd)

Rivalries tend to based upon different things, even if they don't appear to be 'reciprocal'.

Missouri vs. Kansas - heated, historic, spans beyond football?

OSU vs. OU - OSU perspective - we get no respect statewide, always trying to keep up with the older, bullying big brother. OU tends, in football, to not treat it as a big deal (look at the record of OU dominance!). For us, when we rarely win, we print thousands of t-shirts!

OU vs. Texas - hatred, state rivalry.

OU vs. Nebraska - mutual respect, historic success on the field, big game with national implications for almost 30 consecutive years. Started in 1959?

My point is that you likely can't pick a rivalry, it has to develop. Bill McCartney tried. Did it work?

Our natural physical rivalry might be a non-conference game vs. Iowa. Much like Missouri vs. Illinois?

It would be interesting to note what historical rivalries have waned in the recent past due to <whatever> reasons (conference realignment, etc.). Are there any others besides OU/NU? Tex/Ark?

I have the distinct pleasure (??) of being in attendance at the game this Saturday night (we are celebrating the 25th year class reunion of my fraternity pledge class) . Last year, I attended the OSU game, with its 42-0 halftime debacle. I hope that this score is not repeated Saturday night. I'd like to witness a competitive game. Or I will be tagged as a bad luck charm.
