[Husker] Fake FG and Red Zone play

Listening to the post-game radio, two things came up. A Husker fan from Colorado said that on his local radio, KOA, Jimmy Smith admitted that CU had been preparing for that fake field goal for a few weeks. So, they were prepared for it.

A Husker radio commentator asked Joe Ganz about trouble in the Red Zone and he pretty much agreed, noting that it seemed to him that one play in the Zone each series seemed to make the rest of the series more difficult. Or something like that.

I hate the term adversity, since it's the only one coaches seem to use, but it was good to see the Huskers keep their heads following the fake FG and the Ganz fumble deep in CU territory and earn the victory.

Also, a statistic that's usually meaningless is time of possession. After all, CU scored twice on four plays total. But, combined with the new clock rules this season, it was time of possession that has suited the Ganz-run offense so well from the Texas Tech game on, by and large. It keeps the high-powered Big 12 offenses off the field, and Ganz seems to enjoy the rhythm. He seems at ease. A TV announcer said he talked to Shawn Watson, and that in four games, I believe, that Ganz had not missed a single read. This kid could have a future on Sundays...

So, what's it going to be? Florida State in Jacksonville? Playing in Florida has got to be good for recruiting's sake...
