Dumb, DUMB call!  As soon as they lined up, I was afraid they were going 
to try some kind of trick play, knowing CU would be looking for it.  
Yes, I know when asked about it Bo said they should have checked-out of 
it based on how CU were lined up and yes, the kicker took off too early, 
but you had to expect that CU would be ready for such a play since 
Nebraska ran it successfully earlier in the year (in addition to it 
being a ~50 yard fg attempt).

My guess is that how the defender lined up was part of the reason they 
should have checked-out of the trick play, or it is part of the play to 
leave that defender unblocked, expecting them to be charging toward the 
place-holder in order to block the kick.

I disagree.  IMHO, the receiver was hit close enough to when the ball 
passed over the receiver and the ball wasn't so far out of reach, that I 
wouldn't have expected a defender to treat the ball as uncatchable.
