Blake Lawrence played quite a bit, and he's never been a walk-on. I 
believe Wortman is on scholarship now, though he came to NU as a 
walk-on. That the Blackshirts could stifle (for the most part) a decent 
offense with patchwork LBs speaks volumes for the ability of the coaches 
and the adaptability of the players. And it should put to rest any 
questions regarding the value of a robust walk-on program.

Interestingly, the bozos on Fox had Will Compton in the starting lineup, 
even though Pelini has made it very clear he will not burn any redshirts 
this late in the year. I was relieved not to see him on the field. Was 
he even there? I get the feeling Fox begins preparing for these PPV 
broadcasts about ten minutes before air time.
