I believe it happened the week of the 1985 season opener vs. Florida State.
The NCAA started out suspending 30+ players for selling tickets, but NU
appealed it down to probation. The distraction helped the Florida State
College for Women <http://www.fsu.edu/%7Especcoll/curric/currcoll.htm> eke
out a 17-13 win. (That was my first game as a UN-L student. Cody Glenn
would not be born for another 13 months after that game ... {sigh} 8^)
I have no doubt that Tom Osborne had a large role to play in this matter.
He knows the stakes for the program if this kind of stuff starts happening
again.
