[Husker] Explanation of some plays

The best explanation I heard was that when the wind blows the ball off the tee, you get one more chance to tee the ball up before you have to someone hold the ball on the tee. The officials apparently told Kansas to have someone hold the ball on the kickoff after the first blow off the tee on that kickoff.
I'm sure the refs had a good reason to do that. Everybody knew that the ball was going to blow off the tee, and it was just delaying the inevitable. But it hurts coverage to have a guy kneeling to hold the ball on the tee, so in fairness, Kansas got another opportunity to tee the ball up.
