Where are you getting that Asante might move to LB?? I surely have not read everything on Husker football this season but have seen nothing of him moving. Also what happens to Fisher if he doesn't start at Buck?? You state that Either Fisher or Compton will start there with Washington backing up and that Compton will back up Dillard at MLB if not starting but dont say what happens with Fisher if he doesnt start. Does he become second team and then Washington 3rd? I think Washington (if the hype is right) will be too good to be 3rd team. Any chance any of those 3 might get a look at Will?? Just wondering because I think we have some good looking young (young being the key word) LBS and would love to see them all on the field.

As Martin has written (very well I might add) Asante to WILL is conjecture -- I've heard nothing from the coaches at this time.  It is based on Asante's ability to play the run well, but not perform the coverage requirements of his position.  Further, Asante was a LB in JUCO and finally, we don't have much experience at WILL (only Lawrence who hasn't look all-world in his limited play and Holt who hasn't played as much lately after starting a few games ago in Glenn's absence).  Even after an Asante move we have more experience at SS (Thenarse and Culbert) than we do at WILL.

As for BUCK -- I don't think anyone knows what will happen yet.  Compton is probably the most skilled of all the upcoming linebackers but the MIKE spot belongs to Dillard.  Do you play Compton as a backup or move him to BUCK so he can get on the field more?  Who is better at BUCK (Compton, Fischer or Washington)?  Can Fischer play WILL if Asante doesn't move (and/or assuming Compton/Washington are good at BUCK?  Will we even play much BUCK next year given the spread offences?  Can Washington suddenly see the light and understand what he should be doing at BUCK?  I don't have any answers here, just questions.

The coaches have had good things to say about Holt, Fischer and Compton, but I haven't heard the same comments about Lawrence and Washington.  Regardless of how Fischer and Compton play out, WILL remains the weak spot in the linebacking core unless Asante moves.
