Fw: [Husker] So anybody watching the NU/OU game?

Where are you getting that Asante might move to LB?? I surely have not read everything on Husker football this season but have seen nothing of him moving. Also what happens to Fisher if he doesn't start at Buck?? You state that Either Fisher or Compton will start there with Washington backing up and that Compton will back up Dillard at MLB if not starting but dont say what happens with Fisher if he doesnt start. Does he become second team and then Washington 3rd? I think Washington (if the hype is right) will be too good to be 3rd team. Any chance any of those 3 might get a look at Will?? Just wondering because I think we have some good looking young (young being the key word) LBS and would love to see them all on the field.

Dick, you make some good points, but I'll bet the farm (being sarcastic
here, as my brother stayed on the farm and I left for the big city) that the
coaches all return.  The two coaches in question are Sanders and Ekler and both
will be back.  You could possibly add Carl in the picture but he is even more
certain than the others to return.  No, look for the defensive staff to return
intact.

Depending upon some of the redshirts, new recruits and position changes, you
will probably see some different faces next year.  Blue, Dennard and Prince A
will be corners for sure.  Either West or Hagg will be FS but the other will
probably start at the corner opposite Blue (most likely Hagg at CB and West at
FS).

Safety will be Thenarse and Culburth (sp?) at SS along with West/Hagg and
O'Hanlon at FS.  Add PJ Smith and Levorson to that mix as well, plus
potentially a true freshman if we get one good enough.  Asante remains a wild
card however.  IF he figures out coverage schemes this spring better than he
has so far, he may remain at SS, otherwise look for a switch to WILL.

MLB will be Dillard (no crystal ball needed here).  Fischer will get strong
consideration at BUCK, as will Compton.  Compton will also back up Dillard at
MLB, but the spring will work out who starts at BUCK.  Washington will back up
at BUCK.  WILL is possibly Asante or Lawrence depending upon what the coaches
think of Asante during the spring.  If Levorson adds weight, he might get a
look at WILL.  The coaches will experiment heavily this spring until they feel
more comfortable with who is playing where.

I understand the inconsistencies at LB this year, but the safety play is more
puzzling.  These guys are not new to their spots but are still consistently
out of position.  If you consider that safeties are there to prevent the
"big plays" it is easy to see that it is the safety position that is
causing most of the problems for the NU defense this year (and last for that
matter).

Sorry, there are still three/four major games left this year.  It is too early
to focus on next year yet.  Still - food for thought.

Your observations are correct, but your conclusions are arguable. If
players are constantly busting assignments, that might also indicate an
inability on the part of the staff to teach them well enough. It's all a
matter of opinion, of course, and the only opinion that matters is Bo's.
It will be interesting to see which of the starters in the secondary are
starting again next year (I think only Murillo is a senior), and which
of the coaches (if any) depart at the end of this season.

I think we've got the Comcast/roadrunner problems fixed now.
