I don't know about anyone else, but I love looking into stats and finding
things I might not have otherwise known. Interesting stuff taken from the
Big XII only stats...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----
The best Big XII Pitcher

Quick, without looking, what pitcher has the best Big XII ERA? Aaron Crow?
Johnny Dorn?

The winner is...Thad Weber. 2.54 Big XII ERA. Johnny Dorn is 5th (3.10), and
the beloved Aaron Crow is 7th (3.63).

OK, who's got the most strikeouts of the three above? You guessed it, Weber
(4th/45), Dorn (5th/44), then Crow (6th/43).
Conference wins? Weber (1st, 6)
Both Dorn and Weber are tied for 4th with only 1 homer allowed all year,
Crow is tied for 13th with 3 allowed.
Dorn leads the league in wild pitches with 6 and Crow is 2nd with 5. Weber
only has 2!

I am going to ask that everyone on this board forget that I was asking for
Jennings to start over Weber early this year...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Craig Corriston.

Craig Corriston played 1st for the first time in his life (I believe) this
year, the result? A perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in the Big XII. Wow!
(DJ Belfonte and Nick Sullivan are also a perfect 1.000 for NU) Corriston
was also 3rd in the Big XII for 'Chances' at 187 and putouts at 172. That's
downright amazing.

Maybe more well known, but CC's a big part of the NU run production in the
Big XII. He leads the team in RBIs (19), Doubles (6), Home Runs (4) and Hit
By Pitch (7). He's 2nd on the team in Total Bases (43) and Slugging (.566)
and 3rd in Average (.329).

Of course Abeita's a big contributor as well. Leads the team in Average
(.386), Slugging (.586), On Base Percentage (.517, leads Big XII).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Nebraska as a team...

Nebraska is 3rd in the league in runs scored (yeah, suprised me too).
Nebraska leads the league in SAC bunts (Shocker)
Nebraska is 1st in stolen base attempts, 2nd in steals
Nebraska is 2nd in the league in Hit By Pitch

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Texas A&M

To say A&M's offense is good, might be an understatement.

They are first in:

Average
Slugging
On Base Percentage
Runs
Hits
RBIs
Doubles
Triples
Home Runs
Total Bases
At Bats
Walks
Hit By Pitch
Sac Flies

Wow :) Way to go Childress...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh well, maybe nobody else cares about this stuff, but I love seeing this.
Opens my eyes a little :)

GBR!
