I watched the game tonight on ESPN Classic and enjoyed it very much. The Huskers looked motivated, competent, and somewhat talented. The announcers were quite complimentary towards this years team commenting several times on their high level of effort. They were also excited about the future of the Huskers under Doc Sadler and were fairly sure they would be stepping up to the big dance soon.

The Huskers looked really good tonight and made Charlotte look really bad. The star player for Charlotte had a hard time getting off and was turning to the ref looking for help most of the night and didn't get any help because he wasn't getting fouled, he was just being guarded.

All in all, a really good effort, by a team who came together mid way through the league schedule. The 4 red shirts we've heard about should help next year. I can't wait to see how this develops. Being in East Tennessee and watching what has happened with Bruce Pearl as coach of the Volunteers, it is really fun having a top notch basketball team even at "football" school. And it doesn't take years and years to build a basketball power. Just a few years will do it if you have the right guy leading the program. Is Doc the right guy?

Since I didn't see it on the list this evening, I thought maybe at
least one other person might be interested that the Huskers beat
Charlotte from the Atlantic 10 67-48 in Lincoln. Here's a link to the
summary at ESPN.com

http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=280790158

Dagunduro had 15, Maric with 10, they shot 46% from the field and 36%
from behind the 3-pt line. BUT, they only shot a bit better than 50%
from the charity stripe. They led by as much as 26 in the second
half. Now on to Mississippi, who downed UC Santa Barbara tonight by a
similar score.
