Driving across Nebraska yesterday afternoon, I listened to the game,
seventh inning on. While I've stated before that baseball has lost
much of its interest to me, the fact that I could pick up the game on,
like, four stations, and the only other thing was the Houston Rockets
game, it was a great game to listen to. I had them out of it after
KState scored the go ahead runs. The Huskers hit the ball well but
couldn't get guys off the bases. But the scoring in the ninth was
almost exciting, and then the winning runs in the 10th made for a
pleasant driving experience for a couple of hours.

Not to put a wet blanket on my enthusiasm, but is the one play-by-play
guy Lane Grindle(sp?)? He's got way too much information, which
spills over the game action. I had a hard time following his call.
No offense, but he's just too upbeat about most things, or too
downbeat about other things. The other guy is excellent, the call
follows the game and he does the right amount of editorializing to
make it interesting. But Lane may be a reason not to listen to more
games, unless you're trapped in the car for 8 hours.
