[Husker] End of baseball season

Well at least one of his teams won a game at the CWS.  ;)

I mentioned a few weeks back how much I thought this team had exceded
expectations and over-acheived throughout the season.  To be in position to
have a shot at winning the Big 12 regular season title going into the last
weekend was impressive.  NU was picked to finish 6th with good reason.

I think it was a long season for the pitchers - look at how many walks and hit
batters there were in the last several weeks as opposed to the first half of
the season.

It will be an interesting off-season to see how recruiting goes and how all
those young players step up with the loss of all that senior leadership.  Last
year the draft took a number of pitchers, this year graduation will do the
same.

Congrats to the NU baseball team for a great year.  Forty plus wins and high
rankings by polls and computers alike.  The ending was tinged with disappoint,
but the journey was great!
