[Husker] End of baseball season

Agreed..... probably couldn't have said it any better.
They really gritted out victories this season. Many rallies. I think
the Texas A&M series took whatever they had left and that was it.
The one thing that stands out about this team is that before the
season began, 20 of the 35 players on the roster had never taken the
field in a Husker uniform, so for them to have the kind of season they
had is pretty amazing (and a testament to how bad things were last
year).
It didn't help that last year's best returning batter, Jeff Tezak, was
lost for the season early on. Drew Gray loss didn't help either. Their
injuries were in the areas the team needed the most help - in the
power hitting category.
But... that's the way it goes sometimes.
I notice that Mike Anderson's name has come up to replace Ron Polk at
Mississippi State. I don't see him going there, but I wouldn't be
surprised if we have Eric Newman for only another season. He seems
destined to be a head coach at a bigger program. A couple of years
experience with Bingham and Anderson and he'll be ready to go.
