I cannot think of anything I have ever posted that would indicate the
Devaney-Osborne years weren't exceptional. Okay, here we go. I believe the
Devaney-Osborne era was one of the most, if not THE most, exceptional in the
history of college football. I cannot see the 35 years Devaney and Osborne
coached will ever again be duplicated anywhere anytime and that would
include NU. I believe Tom Osborne was one of the greatest, if not THE
greatest, coaches in the history of college football. With that said I also
have to balance that with TO is human and capable of mistakes and being
wrong. It is not wrong to disagree with Tom Osborne. It is not the same as
disagreeing with God. He did not make all the right moves while coaching
nor does he make all the right moves today. He did recommend Steve Pederson
for the job of AD. God does not check with TO every morning to see what the
agenda is for the day. I think most people reading the list would
disagree!!

On what basis do you say that? Pelini hasn't coached one down yet. No
matter who the coach is they aren't in control of they players 24/7.

I never implied, and I posted, I don't believe the Huskers are in a win
at all costs mentality.
But, if you don't believe winning is the main thing I don't know what to
say. If it isn't why bother to recruit? As I have said
countless times, do you believe TO would have lasted 25 years if he didn't
win? There is no way. There were several times anyway
fans wanted his head on a platter because he couldn't beat Oklahoma.
