     We DO need him more than he needs us. In this 'new college landscape' there are 
plenty of places with tradition, great facilities and great people. When TO was 
around - NE was the place to go in our area - small heartland midwestern town.. Now 
Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, etc all can draw those same kids.

      You sound like me when I am trying to say why NU will have trouble dominating 
again.  It isn't because NU has slipped .  It is because everyone else has gotten with 
the program and has recruting advantages.  Most everyone's facilities, weight 
training, training table, tradition, and people are great these days.  I was talking about 
appearance and perception.  I believe we do need recruits.  What we can't do is give 
the appearance we need them more than they need us.  When the perception is we 
need them worse than they need us then we are in trouble.
