>> Every year I have the highest hopes that the b-ball team will give us
something other than the same old ....... stuff. The Colorado game was one
of the road games we had to win. How is it possible that Nebraska has never
won a single NCAA Tourney game in the lifetime of their existence? Tell me,
how does that happen?
I know what you mean Todd, I really do.
>> I forget the year, maybe 95 or so, when we were a 5 seed and played 12
seeded Penn. We were a favorite and I was sure we would get our first ever
NCAA win. Wrong again. As I recall , we got thumped. One and done.
IIRC, we were a 3 seed vs Xavier in 1991 with a 26-7 record and lost. In
1994 we were the 6th seed and lost to Penn.

My fondness for Nebraska basketball goes back to the late 60's and early to
mid 70's when my dad and I went to most of the home games in the old
coliseum. Man what fun that was on those cold winter nights. That place
rocked, and we were very competitive most of the time. Does anyone remember
watching Jerry Fort shoot the ball. What a thing of beauty.

I agree on almost all counts Nick, save the one part about the defense. I
thought we played pretty good defense for the most part last night. The
offense...well, that was the worst showing I've seen this year.
I have to say, this is the first real 'disappointing' loss of the season.
Creighton is a rivalry and a decent team, Western Illinois at their place is
a decent team, but CU? I think what's more disappointing is the opposite
feeling I took away from the KU game. Versus KU I felt we played near our
best and just got beat by a better team, but last night was just the
opposite.
Oh well. Doc's gotta figure out a way to get these guys a little fired up
on the road.
