That was My thought also when I read the article. Is it because he stays at 
A Holiday Inn Express :-))))), or is it because he can recruit Texas well ?

     Well, Bo Pelini, save one game, has never been a Head Coach before
either and few are questioning that. Although, I did wonder why a guy that
wasn't a running backs coach was hired to be such usually coaches know a lot
about football in general. Just like on defense if you are a defensive line
coach it doesn't mean you are clueless as to what linebackers need to do.
Plus, I would think the ability to recruit Texas weighed very heavily.
