>>> 1. Twelve teams with the top four teams getting byes in round #1.

If there were ever a playoff system in CF, It would be a total sham if there
were more than 4 teams, IMO.

NFL, NBA, NHL, MCBB. What do these sports all have in common? The regular
season is borderline meaningless (especially MCBB). The one thing that is
TRULY special about College Football and does not exist in any other major
sport is EVERY GAME IS LIVE OR DIE in a national championship hunt. Ask USC
is a game against a low ranked Stanford is important, or WV if a game
against Pitt is important or even Mich if a game against a Div II team is
important.

If you give 12 teams a chance, you ruin one of the greatest things about
college football, period. As much as I hate OSU, I'm not sure if a 2-loss
national champion is worse (LSU).

I love the bowl system for one simple reason, if you lose you forfeit the
right to complain about not making the championship. You may still make it,
but now you've given your opponents a reason to argue against you.

Plus, nothing more fun than a good debate.
