[Husker] New Stadium Plans Announced

I'm not going to disagree with any of your points. I
haven't been to a CWS game in a few years for a
multitude of reasons, the biggest being that ESPN
pushes the games to 6 pm, which means that I'd have to
take vacation time to even make an evening game. The
corporate attitude already exists outside of
Rosenblatt; look at all the tents and the like for
blocks around 13th Street.

My take is that the city is going to have to meet the
NCAA's demands on the CWS, so the question is where is
the best place to do that. And frankly, the best
solution is clearly downtown when everything is
considered. The other option is to let the CWS go,
and that would seem to be the worst option.

I have some great memories from many years ago
attending the morning elimination games with
discounted tickets purchased from Hinky Dinky. But
alas, those days are long gone.

As for Husker football tickets, I believe that the
last few years, a $300 or $500 donation would
generally assure you of being able to purchase a
couple of season tickets. That may - or may not - be
true anymore. I don't think it takes $1000 or more
(unless you want better seats)...and you can still
argue that's more than you care to spend.
