: It is absurd to say she shouldn't be booted from practicing with the
: team because it was only "what she said" and not "something she did".
: It is obvious that saying things in an interview to the press is
: "something she did" and the effects of those actions can be more
: damaging to the team than a curfew violation or other types of
: "something she did".

That is true. My disagreement with your statement in no way makes
it absurd, your statement is absurd quite apart from my disagreement
with it: Pavan "did" something when she "did" her interview with the
press, and for you to write that it wasn't for something she "did"
is absurd. The absurdity of your statment makes me disagree with
it, not the other way around.

The resulting story made her look bad (worse, I thought, than what she
had to say about teammates and Cook) and cast a negative light on the
program. In light of her actions, it seems clear that her continued
participation would disrupt the team --- a team for which she has no
real eligibility. Therefore, Cook's action to move forward with the
talented players he has seems quite wise. In all of this, I've been
thinking of the attitude that Maggie Griffin displayed in going from
a starter to a backup and then coming back to help practice after
Holloway quit. Yes, Pavan has been a great player and student, but her
career at NU is over and she didn't go out with the highest level of
class and leadership. That's too bad, but it seems to be her own
doing.
