Yes, the Devaney Center is on the grounds of State Fair Park, which is
administered separately from the UNL campus.
If the University and the Mayor have their way, that will change and State
Fair Park will become part of the UNL campus (mostly for some sort of research
park, I guess), but in a classic example of the law of unintended
consequences, it is looking increasingly like if the State Fair moves,
it may move to Grand Island as opposed to some other area in or near Lincoln.
The economic impact that would have on Lincoln over the years has to be huge!
I can only hope that whatever grand scheme they have in mind for State Fair
Park can offset that.
