    I think as far as closeness to the campus it is a moot point.  The 
point being is this new arena primarily for NU athletics or is it an all 
purpose arena including sports and beyond both for NU and the city of 
Lincoln?  The Devaney Center is not for the use of the
city of Lincoln.  It is on State property.  A new center will have to 
share the venue with the city of Lincoln.  It will not have the home 
court feeling the Devaney Center has.  But, I don't think the Devaney 
Center has the home court feeling the Coliseum did either.  But 
whatever, a building that shares the university along with the city of 
Lincoln is not going to have a true home court feeling for NU.  Maybe 
the Devaney Center is off campus but the primary use of the building is 
for NU athletics.  That will not be true of a a new arena off the 
Haymarket area.
