     I have never dislocated a joint so someone that has can speak to 
this better than I.  I am of the understanding that a dislocation does 
not put one out of action like a break or a fracture.  However, it is my 
understanding that each time a joint dislocates the likelihood it will 
dislocate again becomes greater.  I have heard of cases that something, 
like a shoulder, has dislocated so many times in certain individuals 
they almost can't keep it from popping out.  Now I realize Cookie isn't 
to that point but it can get to be a progressive thing if I understand 
correctly.
