Well great, the CWS should be the goal of the baseball team every year. I would really hate it if the goal of the team were to be at or above 500. Do I think fans EXPECT the team to go every year? No, but I do think they HOPE that the team goes. And yes there is a difference. What are your expectations for the team this year?

Dunno about some of that. I think going to the CWS a few times has
indeed spoiled people. I think the poster may have used the term
"idiotic" because of what the program came from. Most of my life the
baseball program was an after thought. If you would have told me 15
years ago the Huskers would be in the CWS I probably wouldn't be able
to control my laughter. I might have asked you what you were
smoking? Those were the days when maybe 50 people "jammed" the
Buck for a game and the Huskers may be extremely fortunate to be
above .500. Now that we have been to the CWS more than once, there
are around 5,000-6,000 at a game in a new and great ballpark and there
are much higher expectations. I think the baseball team has come to
point where if the CWS isn't expected it is at the least the goal just like
the top ten is the goal in football.
