We're not talking about next season or who we are replacing. I said that I would like another shot at Missouri today. I think we would kick their butts. I dont care about when the schedule says we played them I am strictly talking about today. If Mizzou had not played Northwestern two days ago and we were lining up against them today at noon who would win. Thats what I am talking about. They have went backwards by leaps and bounds and we have moved forward by leaps and bounds. I sure dont think it would end up 52-17 do you?

I think we've had a pretty good season for a first year head coach who had to salvage a recruiting class, and then ended up redshirting some of the players in that class that may have otherwise seen the field if we were more about a single year than a program.
The offensive line rotation got better as the year went on, but they still need to be more physical, quicker off the ball. We're going to have a hard time replacing Nate Swift, although Mike McNeill came along really well as a pass-catching tight end. That was a nice surprise.
On defense.... Suh is a beast, otherwise, the defensive line is just okay. Linebackers.... we have some bodies, and the defensive backfield still has a ways to go. As a team, we have quite a ways to go on defense. We still need linebackers next season, and if the secondary doesn't improve next year, at least one coach will find another home.
We have a ways to go before we're amongst the nation's best, and at least a couple more years with good recruiting and coaching before we consistently win the North (although the rest of the North... well, frankly, sucks). ISU is lost, Ron Prince dismantled KSU to the point that Snyder will have to start over, and Hawkins so far is a huge disappointment in Boulder. That leaves Mizzou, and they'll still have Pinkel and his factor.
The season bore out that Missouri was overrated, but that's not when we got to play them, was it? They beat the snot out of us, and in the end, it didn't get them much. To be honest, I find that rather funny.

So Missouri has four players that we dont have the same talent for. How do we match up other wise in your opinion? I think pretty well so we should not let four players beat us. I think we came into the game thinking we had to play perfect and put way to much pressure on our selves and then when things started going bad, instead of regrouping we had guys trying to make plays they weren't capable of and it got worse. I would still take NU today over Mizzou. How about you? Think it would end up 52-17 again? NO! Mizzou was way over rated.

Let's not get carried away.... We have no one who comes close to Jeremy
Maclin, nor do we have a tight end that's close to Coffman. You could
compare Chase Daniel to Joe Ganz, but if you compared them at the beginning of
the season, there would be no comparison.
We have no linebacker close to Weatherspoon, in fact, other than Suh, we have
no one close on defense.
After Missouri lost to Oklahoma State, they never got over their
disappointment, never got their confidence back, and it's only because they
had some pretty good talent that they won as many as they did, and won the
North. Last night you had Northwestern playing as well as they possibly could
and they lost to a Missouri team that played like crap most of the game.
The Missouri game changed our philosophy, at least offensively. Pelini figured
out that this offensive line was never going to run block worth a damn, so they
moved to spreading the ball around and it worked remarkably well for the rest of
the season.
Perhaps it's the step to bigger and better things. Devaney had his 47-0
loss to Oklahoma. Who knows what lies ahead...!?
