Well, it was alive and well at the end of regulation in the Alamo Bowl when Pinkel decided that 40 yards was "close enough" for a game-ending field goal attempt and proceeded to have Chase Daniel run the ball two times to put the ball in the middle of the field, rather than continue to work the ball downfield.  40 yards isn't exactly a chip shot field goal.  No need to take some extraordinary shots down the field, and you certainly don't want to risk a sack (see Joe Ganz against Colorado), but as soon as they stopped their two minute offense, I had a suspicion that Wolfert would miss the field goal.
