I have 2 points to consider in considering why this is the case:
1) Clemson travels well and is physically closer to Jacksonville. I read that the Gator Bowl reps are saying sales are 60-40 in Clemson's favor. This makes Jacksonville a "weaker" home game for Clemson. Home field advantage in my mind is worth 4 points in college (3 in pros).
2) Clemson was top 10 pre-season so there's a general belief they have the talent to a top tier team. Nebraska has been down for several years and there's little (probably no) consensus at the national level that we have top 10 talent. Plus one of the Nebraska papers ran a story this year that since 2001 (my best recollection on the year), Nebraska and Duke are the ONLY teams in all of college football to not have beaten a ranked team.

Can anyone answer why Clemson is favored?
