[Husker] Staying Put

I know  that TO felt Turner was ready for the head coaching job, as he felt about Bo.  In the end, the need for defense won out, but TO had two great choices and could only take one.  I agree, he couldn't have made a bad decision between the two.

I don't remember there ever being a post to this list that either said or implied that Turner had not proved anything at Buffalo.  Neither was there any post that said or implied that he wasn't doing a great job there.  I also don't remember any post that said he wasn't ready for a big time football program.  I remember several posts, mine included, that said that last year he was not ready to be the head coach at Nebraska.  He wasn't.  He had been a head coach 2 years and had a losing season in both.  It is now a year later and Turner is a hot topic.  Is he now ready to be the head coach at Nebraska?  I don't know,  maybe.  Definitely more so than last year.  But he wasn't ready last year and no one was ready to give him the big job (here or anywhere else) last year.  No crow on my plate or anyone else's on the list.

Did anyone else see how choked up Turner was during the postgame interview on the field after the Ball State game?  He could barely talk, tears welling up in his eyes.  They cut the interview short and he turned and went into the arms of his AD and sobbed and sobbed.  He is one hell of a guy.
