[Husker] chizik and SN

At the suggestion of a Husker lister, I am posting a short synopsis of the SN article for those who don't want to subscribe.


Pollard said that twice last week, as late as Thursday and Friday, Chizik assured him he would not dump the Cyclones for Auburn. 

Later Pollard said, "He has to reconcile himself with what he told these players and what he told our administration and what he is doing now. And if he can live with that, more power to him."  

Pollard addressed the media on Monday and choked up when he brought up the ISU fans who had approached him with support. Apparently, Chizik had verbally accepted a two year contract extension before the KState game.

On Thursday night Chizik left a voice mail saying he wasn't leaving for Auburn and he repeated this in a phone call on Friday morning.

Friday afternoon, neither Pollard nor the assistant AD could get Chizik to return phone calls or text messages.
