In light of all the dismay over who should represent the Big 12 in the national championship game, think about this.  But for one ill timed interception throw by Joe Ganz, NU plays Texas in the Big 12 Championship game.  Assuming NU scores a TD and kicks the extra point in OT to beat Tech, Tech would have finished with two conference losses and third in the South Division.  UT beats OU head to head and represents the South in the championship game.  NU finishes first in the North Division at 6-2 despite their blowout loss at home to Missouri and there you have it.  No need for the 27th tie breaker controversy.  Missouri's unhappy of course, but didn't take care of business during the rest of their conference schedule so tough boogers.  In all likelihood, UT beats NU and heads off to play Florida for the national championship.  So in reality, the whole affair wasn't decided head to head to head in the South Division but by one bad play in
 an interdivision game.   Or was it?  BCS rankings were so close that UT might have gained a rematch with OU instead of Florida had they played NU in the conference championship.  Say what you want about the BCS system, a single play could have screwed it up worse than it already is.  What a season!
