Exactly. A bowl game is an exhibition game played for profit. Many have a
hard time with this concept. It is not about who deserves it, it is not
about matchups, it is not about rankings, it is not even about football.
It is about money. The people who put on these games do so to make a
profit. There is only one game where the decision about who plays is
anything besides money and that is the BCS championship game (which of
course also is about money as is the entire BCS.)
