1. The media reports emphasized the good game Joe Ganz had, but in my
opinion Cody Glenn's performance was decidedly more important. There
was never much doubt about the viability of this year's offense, but
there were questions aplenty about the defense. Cody Glenn emerged
not only as the leading perormer of the defense but its leader.

2) I would have liked to see Witt and Lee get a few reps toward the
game's end, but I can only assume there's some logical explanation.

3) I'm not yet convinced we're going to miss our graduate receivers
as much as many have predicted.

4) It seemed to me that in the second half the coaches throttled down
both offense and defence except during crunch moments.

5) I expected WMU to have a good team with all their returning
starters, and I wasn't disappointed. Actually, they were a better
team than the score indicated and should do well this year.

6) All the shortcomings one would expect to find in the first game
under a new coach and a new system came to light, but not as many as
I had expected and feared. Most of the mistakes I saw on TV (not
having had time to review the game film) seem "coachable" ones.

7) I never like to see NU score a quick and easy TD early in the game
as it always seems to hex them. Getting an early lead so easily and
quickly last night may have led to some complacency.

8) I'll glad pay thirty bucks anytime just to avoid Brent Muskrat and
commercials. I consider it a bargain.
