Rod -
Funny, I had Huskerpedia up when I got your message. It may be a
cached page but I was able to connect to several links off that page -
individual game pages, a couple of articles, and other stuff,
including a link to their tickets page (but why did I bother with
that???).
I sort of agree with Rod, and not so much with jj about the WMU game.
I think WMU is a better team than some may think, but I do believe
this is a game we should win. Its not Nichols State from last year,
but closer to Ball State, who were much better than anyone expected.
We just played such horrible defense against them that it was closer
than it should have been. I was sitting just above the Ball State
fans, and congratulated several of them on the way out of Memorial.
They weren't at all surprised about how well they played.
I think WMU is a good test right off the bat. If we've improved on
defense, it should show this week. If we get into a score-for-score
contest, we will have problems all year long. If we bend but not
break down on defense, I will feel good about the rest of the year.
Give up yards but not touchdowns. I don't doubt we can score on them,
and probably will only be limited by offensive mistakes. But the
running game to me is key; if we can run, I feel good. If we struggle
to get 100 yards total on the ground, with three very different backs
getting into the rotation, its gonna be a long year. Again.
