I'll explain why your "feeling" is wrong and others' are right.
You wrote, and I quote:
" Is that a documented fact? Two starters per year from the
"walk on program seems high to me. I might go for the walk on
"program providing two players that play in games per year but two
"starters doesn't sound right. I may be wrong. That is why I
"wondered if you were going off documentation or gut feeling.
"Nothing wrong with gut feeling. We all do it at times.
Others, with a little research, have documented several years in
which there were MORE THAN TWO STARTERS PER YEAR. You, on the
other hand, with no research, have posted no data to support your
"feeling". Actually, "feeling" is really the wrong word. I only
used it because you did. What you have posted to support your
contention that the walkon program is of dubious importance is
factually erroneous.

Personally, I'd rather have no discussion than this one. I'd be glad
to read posts about the upcoming game, especially from posters who
do a little research. Unfortunately, many of those that did post
with real information and knowledge are gone from this list.
