[Husker] 2008 rule changes

Dave I could buy that, except the main thing that lengthens the game so much, the commercials, they're obviously not going to get rid of.

Games that are not on TV go a lot faster. Anyone who goes to a decent amount of games know that TV games often have long periods of time when the players are on the field waiting for that jerk referee with that armband on to get off the dang field. It's especially annoying when it's in the middle of a big part of the game.

Maybe I'm way off. Maybe most people don't agree. I dunno. I understand it's cash that makes the college football go around...but it doesn't mean I can't complain about it.

If you really want to shorten the game, make it a running clock except for the last 2 minutes of every quarter or some variation therein. That would speed it up a ton and you wouldn't have to sacrifice a team's ability to get the play in. Either that or go to the speaker in the QBs helmet like the NFL or something.

I'm one of the few I guess who are for shortening games. Three hour football games are plenty...about 1/2 hour too long. If I'm at the game and having a good time, maybe that's fine. But to sit down to watch a football game on tv,which I do way more than attend a game which I'm lucky to do once a year, three hours is a long time. Just my opinion. There is plenty of time that people are standing around doing nothing, particularly during the endless commercials (read tv timeouts). So I'm all for shortening the game to about 2 1/2 hours, but I don't hear any of the rules honchos suggesting less commercials. Less commercials would mean less ______. Not gonna happen.
