     I thought it had been a while.  1962 and 1963 were during the Devaney 
era and were Devaney's first two years so the program was just starting to 
turn around.  No surprise there.  So, am I correct in saying this was the 
first time in the Osborne/Solich/Callahan eras that the draft has gone this 
deep before a Husker was drafted?  Absolutely amazing the Huskers wouldn't 
have one pick before the fifth round.  I am not one that necessarily 
believes where your players place in the draft is reflective of the kind of 
college team you had/have.  However, to have your first player not go until 
the fifth round when you are supposedly one of the premier programs in the 
country doesn't speak very well.  It is a good thing some things are in the 
past.
