Okay, I missed that and I appreciate you calling my attention to
it. But, I don't know that changes my point a ton. He still isn't "on
the team" at this point. By signing a letter of intent it indicates
where they intend to go to college and play football. While
understanding a signing is different than an oral commitment it still
puts the coach in a different position than if the kid is actually on
the team. If, in this case Pelini, would say "if it is proven you did
these things then expect this when you get to school in the fall". If
the kid doesn't like it he can always choose to go somewhere else. He
would probably have to sit out a year but he could still choose to do
it. Granted if he is on the team he could choose to leave as well but
that is a little tougher thing to do. My main point was it is a little
different than if the kid is currently practicing/playing on the team.

Another sidelight here. I am watching the Florida spring game on
ESPN right now. A couple things I noticed. One is they have about
65,000 people there and they do not charge admission. I see where KU
don't charge admission for their spring game and they expect pretty
close to a full house. Texas had 43,000 at their spring game but I
don't know if they charged admission. NU does charge to get into their
spring game.

I haven't been too a spring game since Crouch was here so that
meant Solich was the coach. One thing I thought was different with the
Florida spring game is the coaches were actually on the field. I mean
in bounds directing the team/s. They would also replay things at
times. When a field goal kicker missed a field goal they had him
re-kick it. I never saw that done at NU. Every spring game I went to
was played like a regular game other than things like you can't hit the
QB, players changed sides occasionally, no blitzing, and the like. But
for the most part it was played like a regular game.
