[Husker] Nebraska offense - football

The thing about Greg Mays (and I don't want to detract what he did for
the list because i enjoyed it too) and offensive expertise that used
to exist is that the offense we run these days is incredibly complex.
Some of that is a reflection of Bill Callahan, but it seems to be
common with most offenses these days. They've changed quite a bit. Not
only that, but from our standpoint, Nebraska ran the same offense for
quite a long time and the theory behind the offense was execution.
Nowadays, offenses are trying to move people around to get mismatches,
and force the defenses into back tackling in space (like we saw WAY
TOO MUCH OF last season).
Or maybe that it's that we haven't kept up. I haven't decided yet. :)
Anyway, Watson says we're going to be running basically the same
offense. Yet, we're going to also run the spread. And we're going to
add some power running. People made the point that Callahan's offense
was too complex for the college game, yet Watson says we're not going
to change much. Now, maybe he can reduce the complexity and the number
of plays, but how is he going to do that yet at the same time add
different formations unless those were already part of the playbook?
