Bob, does this help with your NIAC / GPAC history: (taken from GPAC
history page)

It was founded in 1969 as the Nebraska Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference. The six charter members were Concordia University
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concordia_University%2C_Seward> , Dana
College <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dana_College> , Doane College
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doane_College> , Hastings College
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hastings_College> , Midland Lutheran
College <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midland_Lutheran_College> , and
Nebraska Wesleyan University
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nebraska_Wesleyan_University> .

With the addition of Northwestern College
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northwestern_College_%28Iowa%29> in 1992,
the NIAC was renamed the Nebraska-Iowa Athletic Conference.

The NIAC was transformed into the Great Plains Athletic Conference
(GPAC) in 2000 with the addition of Dakota Wesleyan University
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dakota_Wesleyan_University> , Dordt
College <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dordt_College> , Mount Marty
College <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Marty_College> , and
University of Sioux Falls
